Cups to grams converter
A cup of flour and a cup of sugar don't weigh the same. Pick the ingredient and get the weight in grams or ounces, or go the other way from grams to cups. All weights come from the USDA's food database, and each one links to its source record.
Fractions work: 1/3, 1 1/2

Why weigh instead of using cups?
How much a cup holds depends on how you fill it. Scooping flour straight from the bag packs it down, so you can end up with 20–30% more flour than if you spoon it in and level it off. Kitchen scales take that guesswork away. That's why most professional recipes, and almost every recipe outside the US, use grams. This site uses the USDA's standard weights, so you start from a documented reference instead of a guess. Read how to measure flour for the details.
